《英文由F字學起》出書了！

我出書了！
這是我第一本書，都叫《英文由F字學起》，由皇冠旗下的青春文化出版。記得教書時還未寫 blog，曾跟朋友開玩笑說：「將來我要寫一本書，叫《英文由F字學起》。」想不到當天的戲言，竟成真了。
主題和我網誌一樣，都圍繞學英文的方法和態度，亦有大篇幅狂插香港病態的英文學習文化。這本書除了集合網誌和專欄中較有代表性的文章外，還有一些新寫的篇章，包括「訪問自己」一節。
本書會在七月中上市，在各大書店有售，請大家多多支持，也向朋友介紹下這本書啊！
前言
我愛英文，也希望學生愛上英文。
這是我的教學理念，所以教書時，我一有機會就讓同學接觸英文可愛之處：
羅素鏗鏘有力的文筆，奧斯汀幽默諷剌的小品，海倫凱勒感人肺腑的 Three Days to See，馬丁路德金慷慨激昂的 I Have a Dream，《老友記》中Chandler抵死的對白，甚至BBC主持玩電話的爆笑錄音......
我要令學生和我一樣，都瘋狂的愛上英文。假如你感性過人，就由感人的文字學起；愛看笑話，就由喜劇學起；喜歡爆粗，就由F字學起吧。總之要從興趣入手，因為我相信，要學好任何事物，都先要愛上它。
那些只視英文為搵工升學的工具的人，很難學好，因為他們沒有欣賞的眼光，少了求知好學的心。他們從不過問句子節奏是否優美，修辭是否有趣；讀到好文章時不會暗忖：「寫得文章若此，死而無憾！」；他們只懂記生字，背文法，在他們心中，英文永遠跟證書，課程和考試掛勾。這些人永遠學不好英文。借用德國哲學家康德的術語：我們應視學英文為 an end in itself，而非 a means to another end，這樣才能成功。
好了，這本書到底講甚麼? 這不是本英文教科書：我既不教生字，亦不講文法，所以如果你要學「三千單詞」，「兩百句式」，或要「兩星期學好英語」，可速退款。我在書中和大家分享的，是學英文應抱的態度，和有效的學習方法。
我不是甚麼名師，天王，更不是權威。我只是一個熱愛英文，希望分享所學的人。南華早報有篇報導最得我心：我是甚麼人? 就是 a language lover。
早陣子在網上看到微軟老細Bill Gates在哈佛大學的畢業演講，有一句讓我感受很深。他說：I love getting people excited about software. 現在，讓我拾人牙慧的也說句：I love getting people excited about the English language.
這就是我寫《英文由F字學起》的目的。

When I saw the title of your book 《英文由F字學起》, I think you were talking about me, because 'F'is the first letter of my given name. I took a glance at your new book out of my curiosity at frist, but I couldn't stop reading it before I must go back to work.
I agree with you one's attitude is an important factor to learn a language. You must love the language like love your girlfirend, you must enjoy the learning process like chasing to watch soap opera 衝上雲霄. You do give us an inforormative website and a handy book for learning English, thanks a lot.

I bought your book today, it is really interesting and useful, I love reading it. I also bought another one to my little nephew, he will study P.6 in the coming school year. I think your book can inspire his interest to learn English. For me, I'm too old to break off the wrong practices, but I wish the young people can develop a positive attitude in learning English.
